Ana Gog are a five-piece band based in Dublin, Ireland. Their sound is an eclectic mix of folk, post/prog rock and electronica with contemporary influences. To date the band have had two official releases, the album 'Making Trails' in 2013 and the EP 'Resemblance' which was released in 2014. After touring in India and Europe and after a period of writing and rehearsing the band returned to the studio in August 2015 to work on their upcoming album, due to be released this year!

Michael Gallen is an Irish composer and performer and is also the pianist, lead singer and songwriter with of the band Ana Gog. Brought up primarily listening to Irish traditional and folk music, Michael later pursued studies in composition in Paris with Jose Manuel Lopez Lopez. He has been commissioned to write for solo instrument, small ensemble and orchestra and is fast developing a reputation as one of Irelands most exciting composers of new choral music! His music has been used extensively in film, radio and television, including the score for Athena Media/RTE’s Citizens:Lockout 1913-2013 series which won Gold Medal at the 2015 New York Radio Awards.

Praise for Ana Gog

‘A focus on composition and arrangements that might just set this band apart from the many other Irish bands’ - State

'Resemblance leaves the listener in little doubt of both the sonic and stylistic evolution Ana Gog have undergone since last year’s début album Making Trails.' - The Last Mixed Tape

'Ana Gog produce very energetic performances: one minute it’s loud, the next minute you could hear a pin drop' - Red Bull Music

'...a contemporary edge, stretching for the euphoric choruses of Arcade Fire or the idiosyncratic, classical-led methods of Owen Pallett' - The Irish Times
