Greenshine and Hank Wedel

Greenshine are a duo of Mary Green and Noel Shine and they are returning to the High Tide Club with singer-songwriter Hank Wedel for one night only. 

Mary Green and Noel Shine of Greenshine have released three critically acclaimed CD's to date. 'The Land You Love The Best' was rated no.3 in The Irish Times Folk Albums of the Year, in the year that it was released, 'Greenshine', the album (which included the talent of the duo's daughter, Ellie) was listed on RTÉ Radio One's Recommended New Albums List and Mary's solo, 'Sea of Hearts' got an impressive 8 out of 10 in Hot Press Reviews. Their sound includes beautiful harmonies and straddles the boundaries of contemporary, folk and roots. The duo have also recorded songs with Christy Moore, The Republic of Loose, John Spillane and Dr. Strangely Strange. They can count people such as Christy Moore and Sharon Shannon among their fans with Sharon describing their sound as "gorgeous" and Chrsity Moore describing the album, 'Greenshine' as "the sound of a family immersed in music, tight in harmony, in love with song". 

Hank Wedel was born in the US but is currently based in Cork city and is well known  for his work with bands such as Princes Street, Open Kitchen and Small Town Talk with Declan Sinnott. In 2012 Hank released 'Mighty Fine', which reached no.4 in the Irish iTunes singles chart. In 2014 he released a double-A side single, 'So Close' with Mary Green and 'That was the One' with Brian O'Carroll. Mary and Hank regularly have fun song-writing togteher. Hank describes his sound as the Irish-Americana, and has shared the stage with the likes of Shane McGowan, Christy Moore, Kila and Bono.
