Paula Gomez and Stephen Housden

PAULA GOMEZ is a singer-songwriter who has spent some years living in West Cork but now resides in Madrid. Paula will make a welcome return to The High Tide Club along with the very talented guitarist/singer/songwriter Stephen Housden. Paula's sound is influenced by blues, folk and rock and her compositions have been noted as highly original, with a strong melodic sensibility. Her sound combined with her wide vocal range and powerful delivery is attracting attention from worldwide audiences.

Paula was also selested as a featured artist of the Guinness Amplify campaign.

The Scene, try to find at-least one "diamond in the rough" at each festival that makes it all worth while. Paula Gomez was artist one, on day one and was surprisingly that - Scene Magazine Toronto, Canadian Music Week  

STEPHEN HOUSDEN, who was featured on Paula's album Love & Hate, is regarded as one of the finest guitar players in the world. Born in the UK, Stephen was inspired to play guitar by watching singing-cowboys as a child on TV and upon moving to Australia at age eight he discovered rock 'n' roll and his passion only grew. He started his first band in High School and played in coffee houses. Hendrix and great jazz player Wez Montgomerey influenced him as he developed his own distinct sound. He got alot of attention from some of Australia's most successful recording acts over the next couple of years. 
In 1981 he was made the lead guitarist of one of the world's most successful acts,  Little River Band, and has toured the world with themmany times as well as co-writte many song's including Love is a Bridge. 
Stephen has also played and recorded with such music legends as Warren Zevon, Glenn Frey (The Eagles), Dr. John, Christopher Cross, John Entwistle (The Who), Renee Geyer, P.F Sloan, Albert Lee, Steve Cropper, The Seekers, Noel Redding (The Jimi Hendrix Experience) and many, many others. Stephen now resides near Clonakilty and has participated in many of the Clonakilty International Guitar Festivals and also gigs regularly with his band Kings Of Kudos.
