The Cujo Family Sat 12th July 9pm
The High Tide Club is delighted to announce the forthcoming acoustic gig with two of the band members Gavin McCabe & Will Slattery. Hailing from Bray, local heroes The Cujo Family are a folk rock band who have been creating their own brand of hard edged folk, or “hardfolk” for the last five years.
Since forming, The Cujo Family have released their self titled debut album to critical acclaim, and have played at festivals all over Ireland (including the last five years straight at Electric Picnic) and gigs in pretty much every Dublin venue worth its own salt, including Whelan’s, Grand Social, The Workmans Club and many more.
They also won The Mercantile hosted King Kong Club competition, which led to the band playing gigs in London, Brighton and all five boroughs of New York.
We will commence the evening with a screening of 'Where The Blue Flowers Grow' by Isolda Heavey which had its world premier viewing at The Irish Film Institute in Aug 2013. The film is an intimate behind the scenes portrait of Wicklow band The Cujo Family & is ultimately a touching look at the friendship, passion and creative collaboration of a band aiming for the top..
